Comments: The year was 1965 and as a high school student I was working at a local nursery. That spring I noticed a pink flower on a lower branch of the Rhododendron 'Unique' and mentioned it to my boss Bruce Brechtbill. Several cuttings were taken that fall. To make a long story short after Bruce's death in the early 70's this rhododendron was named for him. Obviously one of my favorites.
