Comments: When visitors to the garden find out this mound of extraordinary, narrow curled leaves is an azalea , they are surprised, indeed. Sporadic 1.5 inch single, dark pink flowers lie half-hidden in the greenery, allowing the distinct foliage to shine through. Planted when it was five-years old in 1996, it now measures about 18 inches high x 24 inched wide. Translated 'Rinpu' means "long lasting wind".
